Children and adolescents aged 12 - 18 years who are facing difficulties with a variety of substances, such as crystal meth, alcohol, stimulants, cocaine/crack, cannabis, hashish, mushrooms, hallucinogens, sedatives and inhalants such as gasoline or glue.

  2. What are the goals of the ADAPT program?

    • Improvement in daily functioning
    • Increase in skills that promote abstinence/reduced use

  3. When does the ADAPT  program operate?

Inpatient program services can be accessed throughout the year when space at the centre is available. The intensive inpatient treatment program runs from 6-9 months, based on the individual needs of each person in care. The outpatient day program is offered in conjunction with the Bosco Homes schools, licensed by Alberta Learning, which operate from September - June.

  5. How does the ADAPT program work?

The centre uses a bio/psycho/social/spiritual treatment approach. The program also incorporates cultural and spiritual practices relative to First Nations and Inuit addictions treatment.

Services are provided by a co-ordinated team of health, social services, education, and cultural/ spiritual helpers. The client and family play a central role in program planning, implementation and evaluation of the individual treatment efforts.

  6. Why should a person participate in the ADAPT program?

Substance abuse/addiction can be a life-long problem affecting individuals, their families, and their communities. The ADAPT program is based on the latest research in the field of addictions treatment. At Bosco Homes we are dedicated to ensuring that our clients are safe and secure, healthy and well cared for, and successful at learning essential life skills.
